FIBA RULE TEST  01



1.   Are all the restrictions for goaltending and interference presented in the Rulebook, absolutely the same for defensive and offensive players?
2.   During the last 2 minutes of the game, A4 is dribbling in his backcourt. B4 taps the ball out-of-bounds with 8 seconds remaining on the 24-second clock. Team A is granted a time-out. Game is resumed with a throw-in by team A from the throw-in line in his frontcourt with 14 seconds remaining on the 24-second clock.                                                                  
3.   Loosing orientation A3 erroneously shoots in his own basket. While the ball is in the air B5 fouls A5. The ball enters the basket. 2 points are awarded to team B and game is restarted by team A with a throw-in from the end-line.
4.   With 12 seconds left on the 24-second clock, B4 in his backcourt kicks the ball with his foot. A throw-in is awarded to team A with 14 seconds remaining from the 24-second period.                                          
5.   B4 taps the ball out-of-bounds from the hands of A4 who is dribbling in his frontcourt for 14 seconds. The officials are not sure who was responsible for the out-of bounds situation and decide “jump ball”. According the arrow team A shall make the throw-in with only 10 seconds left from the 24-second period.
6.   A double foul A4 – B4 is called. This is team A’s 3rd team foul and team B’s 6th team foul for the period. Is this a jump ball situation?
7.   A4 is fouled by B4 while shooting from the 3-point area and the shot is missed. Erroneously A4 attempts only 2 instead of 3 free throws. After the second and missed free throw, the ball rebounds from the ring and is controlled by B5. After 1-2 seconds the error is discovered. A4 shall attempt 1 free throw and game shall resume with a throw-in by team B.  
8.   After a jump ball situation, the arrow shows team A to make the throw-in.
9.   Following a field goal scored by team A and before the ball becomes alive for the throw-in,  A4 and B4 commit a double foul. Do we have a jump ball situation?                                                                             
10.               A shot for a field goal by A4 is already in the basket when B4 touches the net or the ring. An interference violation is called.   
11.               A4 dribbles the ball for 5 seconds in his backcourt when a double foul A5-B5 is called in team A’s backcourt. Team A is awarded the ball for a throw-in with a new 8-second count.                                        
12.               After a field goal try by A3, the ball is just touching the side of the ring/not the top of the ring/ of team B, when B3 jumps and touches the net or the ring. Is B3 committing a violation?                            
13.               After a shot for field goal by A4, the ball is in the air when sounds the 24-second signal and then the ball lodges on the basket support. The arrow is in favor of team A. Game is resumed with a throw-in for team A.
14.               Losing orientation A3 erroneously shoots in his own basket. The ball is in the air when A5 fouls B5. The ball enters the basket. 2 points are awarded to team B and game is restarted with a throw in by team B.
15.               A4 commits an unsportsmanlike foul on B4. Instead of B4 it is B5 who attempts successfully the 2 free throws. The error is discovered just before the ball is at the disposal of team B for the throw-in. The 2 free throws are cancelled and game is resumed with a throw-in by team B.                  
16.               A shot for field goal is already in the basket, when B4 taps the backboard causing vibrations. Has B4 committed a violation?
17.               A4 is holding the ball in the court near the side line. B4 who is guarding closely A4 has one foot out-of-bounds. While pivoting A4 touches the body of B4. Do we have an out-of-bounds violation?       
18.               A5 is dribbling on a fast break and attempts a jump shot close to the 3-point line. B5 following him from behind cannot avoid the contact with A5 and causes him to land with one foot inside the 2 point area, before releasing the ball. Shot misses. Officials decide: 3 free throws for A5.
19.               Team A has possession of the ball when fighting breaks out between players A3 and B3. Both players are disqualified and game is restarted by team A with a throw-in from the centre line extended opposite the scorer’s table.
20.               The ball is above the ring after a pass by A4, when B4 reaches through the basket from below and touches the ball. This is a violation and 2 or 3 points are awarded to team A.                                              
21.               An unsportsmanlike foul is committed by B4 against A4, who is in the act of shooting. Shot misses. 2 free throws are awarded to A4 and a throw-in for
22.               Player-coach is charged with a technical foul for his behaviour during an interval of game. Is the technical foul charged against A4 as a coach?
23.               Team A has possession of the ball when fighting breaks out between substitutes A6 and B6. Both are disqualified and game is restarted by team A with a throw-in from the centre line extended opposite the scorer’s table.
24.               With 8 seconds remaining on the game clock and 20 seconds on the 24-second clock, B4 in the frontcourt of team A, kicks the ball. Team A is awarded the ball for a throw-in with 20 seconds from the 24-second period.
25.               With 10 seconds remaining on the shot clock the defensive team A knock the ball out of play in team B’s front court.  Player B8 is looking to pass the ball into play when A6 puts their hands over the sideline.  The referee blows his whistle and warns him.  Should the shot clock be reset to 24 seconds?
